Hurricane Gustov Exit Signs
Thankfully Louisiana has dodged a bullet. The local and state government came together and were much prepared for this fast moving hurricane. Unlike 3 years ago when the exit strategies were not planned, many live were shamefully lost in the aftermath of Katrina. Leading up to this weather event forecasters predicted it would make landfall as a category 3 or 4 hurricane. Instead it barreled as a category 2 and luckily fell apart as it approached the shore. This time the Exit Signs were clearly marked, the city of New Orleans was proactive this time around and evacuated the communities with buses and Amtrak services, to quickly exit people for harms way. Neighbor states and cities were in constant communication as the storms formed, therefore could plan exit routes.
